A small-town bookkeeper keeps the books — and the receipts — on his wife's aggressively American family, the year the whole clan gets audited by something larger than the I.R.S.

It is a comedy about documentation, loyalty, and what a family will and won't write down, narrated by the one man in the county who keeps the records straight. Star billing goes, as it should, to a goose.
